We started travelling in the capital and there was an atmosphere remaining from the Khmer Rouge. We saw the old school building they had used for torture and the “killing fields”, basically a large park that was a concentration camp and killing ground. The city of Phnom Penh was full of life but because of my reading of the history and the places we visited, the spirits of the dead seemed very present and palpable.
